Where Do We Go After Findsly’s Closure

We recently learned that Finds.ly will shut down by the end of this month, as announced by its founder, Eli, on the evening of June 23. Eli shared that Finds.ly began as a solo passion project, sparked by a sudden burst of inspiration. Unexpectedly, the platform grew rapidly, attracting a large user base and scaling far beyond his initial vision. However, the surge in traffic brought immense pressure, leading him to make the difficult decision to close Finds.ly.

This news has left many users feeling regretful and saddened, while a few expressed disappointment, viewing Eli’s decision as irresponsible. As the FindQC team, we were also surprised by this announcement. While we may not fully understand the deeper reasons behind Eli’s choice, we deeply empathize with the pressure he described. Managing a rapidly growing community platform is no small task.

Reflecting on our own journey with FindQC, we see parallels. FindQC was born out of a passion to help users, inspired by Finds.ly and the clear need for transparent QC (quality control) images. A few of us grabbed our laptops and, on impulse, began designing a product prototype. Over time, we introduced features like affiliate partnerships and image search functionality. While the journey hasn’t been without challenges, it’s been driven by our commitment to serving you.

As FindQC’s traffic and user base have grown, we’ve started to feel pressures similar to those Eli described. These challenges include:

  1. Sustainability and Monetization: Initially a passion project, FindQC has faced the question of how to remain financially sustainable. Several well-known agents approached us for partnerships, but we declined most because their services didn’t meet our standards. The exception is MyCNBox, a service we genuinely trust. From response times and customer support to shipping speed and the quality of QC photos and videos, MyCNBox delivers excellence in every aspect. As a result, they provide us with QC photos and videos at no cost, and in return, we promote them within the FindQC community. Many of the QC images and videos you see on our platform come directly from MyCNBox.
  2. Meeting Growing Demands: As our user base expands, so do your needs. Beyond providing QC resources, we now assist users in finding products, connecting with reliable sellers, and avoiding scams. Maintaining the FindQC Discord community requires constant attention, sometimes keeping us online for up to 18 hours a day. Like anyone, we have families and personal lives, but to ensure the community runs smoothly, we often work in shifts. This demanding schedule has given us a deep understanding of the pressures Eli faced.

Despite these challenges, our commitment to our original mission remains steadfast. We will continue to provide a transparent, reliable QC platform, introducing new features and ensuring the stability of FindQC.com and our Discord community.
